Tempest Rising by Tracy Deebs

9583227

Tempest Maguire wants nothing more than to surf the killer waves near her California home; continue her steady relationship with her boyfriend, Mark; and take care of her brothers and surfer dad. But Tempest is half mermaid, and as her seventeenth birthday approaches, she will have to decide whether to remain on land or give herself to the ocean like her mother. The pull of the water becomes as insistent as her attraction to Kai, a gorgeous surfer whose uncanny abilities hint at an otherworldly identity as well. And when Tempest does finally give in to the water's temptation and enters a fantastical underwater world, she finds that a larger destiny awaits her-and that the entire ocean's future hangs in the balance.

I have to admit that I'm not usually a big fan of books which are dealing with mermaids. But I absolutely LOVED this one!

The characters, especially Tempest, the setting, the story, everything about this book was fantastic. I got totally lost in this world! The relationship between Tempest and her mother and the fact that Tempest refuse to be what she is give the story a depth.

The love triangle is very interesting even if we know from the start with who she is going to end.

Great story, great characters and beautiful setting, I can't wait to read the next book in the serie!

Unearthly by Cynthia hand

In the beginning, there's a boy standing in the trees . . . .

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she's part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn't easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there's another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara's less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she'd have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Unearthlyis a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.

Usually I'm a real fan of angel books. I was really expecting this one because I heard so many good things about it, and unfortunately I was disappointed!

I thinks that it is great that Calra knows that she is an angel from the start and I have to admit that the writing was good and easy but I wasn't surprised by this book.

Tucker is a great character and his romance with Clara is very sweet and it is great that he doesn't accept the fact that Clara is an angel directly but the bad part is about Christian because I knew from the start what was going to happen with him ( I'm not going to say what happened don't worry!)

I can't wait to read the next one in the serie and I hope that I have a nice surprise with the next one!

Devoted by Hilary Duff

     SPOILERS!!

Since Sage was kidnapped, Clea has no way of knowing if he is alive or dead. And even though she has only just discovered they were soulmates, she feels like a part of her is lost forever. What’s worse, she can’t even turn to her best friend Ben—because every time she looks at him, all she sees is his betrayal.

But waiting for something to happen is not an option, so Clea is ready for action. Suffering through dreams of seeing Sage with another woman, she makes an uneasy alliance with Sage’s enemies and sets out to be reunited with Sage...in this life or the next.

I have to say that I was expecting this book. And I'm glad to say that I've not been disappointed! (except maybe because there weren't enough pages) All the characters are still present in this one and a new character arrived Nico and I really like him too. I'm glad that Ben plays a more important role in the second book even if we feel sad for him!

This second opus will be great for people who wanted more action and maybe a little bit less romance. Like the first one Devoted makes us wish for the next book in the Elixir series thanks to an unexpected ending !

Elixir by Hilary Duff

9782749913513                 Clea Raymond has felt the glare of the spotlight her entire life. The daughter of a renowned surgeon and a prominent Washington DC politician, she has grown to be a talented photojournalist who takes refuge in a career that allows her to travel to the most exotic parts of the world. But after Clea’s father disappears while on a humanitarian mission, Clea’s photos begin to feature eerie, shadowy images of a strange and beautiful man—a man she has never seen before.
When fate brings Clea and this man together, she is stunned by the immediate and powerful connection she feels with him. As they grow closer, they are drawn deep into the mystery behind her father’s disappearance, and they discover the centuries old truth behind their intense bond. Torn by a dangerous love triangle and haunted by a powerful secret that holds their fates, together they race against time to unravel their pasts in order to save their lives—and their futures

Is what hard at first to believe that Hilary Duff was the person who wrote this book and I was a little bit sceptic about it. Bbut when I read the book I have been surprised by the quality of the writing, the story and the characters.

Clea is strong and independant and in comparison with other female charcters in ya books I've read she knows what she wants, Sage. Her best friend Rayna is a real best friends ( who doesn't try to hurt her best friend which is pretty rare in Ya books) and she is realy funnt and entertaining. And to make it perfect you have two fantastic male characters, so you're free to choose!

Elixir is the type of books which keep you entertained from the beginning to the end and make you wish for more!
